DIRrebreather Rescue Workshop
GOAL
The DIRrebreather Rescue workshop is designed to provide the participant with rebreather-specific knowledge and skills that are not taught in conventional rebreather courses. It helps the participants to improve their ability to perform rescue techniques on themselves and on distressed rebreather divers.
PREREQUISITES
To participate in the workshop, it is required to:
- Be at least 18 year old
- Have a Certification as rebreather diver (SCR or CCR) by a recognized Training Agency
- Be physically and mentally fit
- Have a DAN Insurance (or equivalent diving insurance)
- Be able to swim a distance of 15m / 50 feet on a breath hold
- Be able to swim at least 275m/300 yards in under 14 minutes without stopping (swimsuit, no fins)
- Have a Certification as rebreather diver (SCR or CCR) by a recognized Training Agency
- Have been trained in CPR/1st aid by a recognized training agency since less than 2 years
- Have participated in a DIRrebreather Fundamentals Workshop
There is no specific experience required between the DIRrebreather Fundamentals workshop and the Rescue workshop.
Having participated in a recreational OC Rescue course prior to his workshop is a definite advantage as it allows the participant to focus entirely on rebreather-specific techniques.

The workshop should last for a minimum of 3 days with at least 10 hours of Academics and 5 in-water sessions to a maximum depth of 18m/ 60 feet (no decompression), no overhead environment.
