DIRrebreather Expedition/Mixed-Gas Workshop
GOAL
The DIRrebreather Expedition / Mixed-Gas workshop is designed to provide the participant with rebreather-specific knowledge and skills that are not taught in conventional Trimix rebreather courses. It helps the participants to improve their personal rebreather skills as well as their ability to be part of a rebreather expedition team, within the limits of their current certification.
PREREQUISITES
To participate in the workshop, it is required to:
- Be at least 18 year old.
- Have a Certification as Trimix Rebreather Diver (SCR or CCR) by a recognized Training Agency
- Have participated in a DIRrebreather Fundamentals Workshop within the past two years.
- Be physically and mentally fit
- Have a DAN Insurance (or equivalent diving insurance)
Normoxic Trimix CCR Diver or Recreational Trimix CCR Diver certifications are acceptable as pre-requisites qualifications for this workshop. The maximum depth reached during the workshop will be based on the current certification limit, with a maximum depth of 120m/ 390 feet.
The DIRrebreather Expedition / Mixed-Gas workshop can be combined with a Trimix course, provided all the performance requirements are met.
Note:
1. The workshop can take place in an overhead environment if the participants are already qualified to do that. In this case, prior participation to the DIRrebreather Overhead Environment Workshop is strongly recommended.
2. During the workshop, participants can use a DVP, provided they have been trained and are experienced with the scooter being used. Prior participation to the DIRrebreather DPV / Scooter Workshop is strongly recommended.
DURATION AND LIMITS
The workshop should last for a minimum of 3.5 days with at least 10 hours of Academics and 5 in-water sessions to a maximum depth of 120m/ 390 feet.
Maximum in-water Instructor-to-student ratio is 1:3
